Hello All! You might not believe this being a blogger but talking about myself does not come easily to me. So, When my friend Kathryn (the_mother_hen on insta) put out the blog a day challenge and the first one was ten facts about myself I had to give it a try. It was harder than I thought to think of things I thought would be interesting to know. So, I hope I picked some good ones and that you learn more about me other than the fact I really love to cook and bake.
Here are ten facts about me.
I am from Nova Scotia Canada ...Cape Breton Island more specifically which is on the east coast. So, beautiful in the summer and a freezing winter wonderland for our what seems to be very very long winters.
I speak basic French and am working on learning more Spanish. I read once that learning languages can help improve the longevity of your memory so I will speak as many as that takes to be true.
I made the decision to go to the UK when I was about 6 years old. Life got in the way a bit in my early twenties but I made the jump in May 2016. To be honest it is probably one of the best decisions I ever made. I think it has made me more myself as well as more comfortable with who that is. Also, the fact I met my husband to be when I moved is a huge part ;)
I am working on but have anxiety, I am always learning coping mechanisms but also learning that if we were not so hard on ourselves this can go a long way.
Although I have worked in kitchens for the past years excluding a couple of years working at a bank. My university degree is in commerce/marketing.
A big part of why I love baking is how I used it at first to help with anxiety. It can be very calming in its science also that if you add eggs, flour, milk and such something will come out of that.
I have been to all over Mexico, Europe, some of the U.S. and the U.K. but not to the other side of Canada. The furthest I have gone is Ontario which would be like the middle of Canada. I am not really sure why but going to those places was a goal but the other side of Canada is sooo gorgeous it is definitely on my list of places to go next. Another reason might be it is usually close to half the price to fly to Dublin then it is to fly to say Edmonton .....UNFAIR!
On my 25 birthday, I gave my self a birthday surprise of type one diabetes... Yep right on the exact day.
I love love love old movies! Just how classy and classic they are is gorgeous to me. My all-time favourite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany's, I have no joke seen it about 10 times if not more....probably more
My two biggest vices would be popcorn and dark chocolate. Dark chocolate to me is above every other type of chocolate...and each time I read it is the healthiest is just a bonus.
