Last weekend there was a wedding show in the city my sister lives in and I was pretty excited that I would get to go with her and my mom. We had last gone 4 years ago when she got married and 2 years later I met Ali, now I was there again :) There was sooo much vendor selection from food to flowers and dresses to tableware. I thought I had everything planned before going in but when I had gone through the whole showcase some ideas were vamped up and some brand new ones had me even more excited for the big day... Which is a shocking 5 months away!!! One of my favourite types of vendors were the florists and in particular Koko Mod Floral design. Her display was simply stunning, it was the whole space filled with flowers (in my wedding colours might I add) and a beautiful bride sat in the middle of it all. All of the flowers were in my wedding colours which were part of why the three of us were so in love with the display. The owner also was soo lovely to talk to and you could really tell she had a passion for it. Now no surprise here but another of my kind of vendors are the ones for food and drink. At the moment we are not doing a wedding cake and instead opting for all kinds of different desserts. Including one in the form of a tree, which I am very very excited for. There was also a non-alcoholic beer and cider vendor which I found great to have as an option at weddings. Perhaps if you need favours or gifts for the groom or bridal party this would be a great option for those who don't have the same tastes as you. My sister and I tried one that was a cider made with almonds. (pictured in the blue and yellow can below) The top five trends I took away from this show was...
Before this weekend I did not know for sure a smaller city like Halifax had as much as we do but it's soo great to see so many small local businesses killing it in their industries. Since I have been to my share of wedding shows in the past year I know a big part of it is the goodie bag. This one had pretty much everything I would need to plan my wedding in the city. As well as chocolate which I think would be for a much-needed treat when the planning gets to be a little overwhelming.
I mistakenly did not grab a photo but there is another vendor if you are looking for stationary in the NS area. It is called Lupin Design studio and is owned by my lovely friend Andrea. It was such a great day and I came out with so much wedding inspiration. I really need to get to work on the plans and decor ideas... I just might today Here are the links to the vendors I mentioned.
