With everything I bake I like to test and tweak recipes until they are at what I would consider it my go to recipe. That way I have much more time for baking and don't need as much time for falling in foodie internet holes ....Which I do with enough of my time already ;) Coffee cake is a very popular recipe in cafes and bakeries around here. So much so that I really don't know why I don't bake it more often, I think I will be now after getting this recipe in my rotation. So, here is what I would say is the classic coffee cake recipe. This cake is light but flavourful cake with its streusel topping/filling. You will be definitely looking forward to when its time for that afternoon snack. My biggest tip would be to make sure not to over mix the batter when combining the wet and dry ingredients. Over mixing with this cake can make it much more dense when a more airy texture is what we are looking for. For now lets eat cake! Ingredients: Streusel topping and filling:

These pork chops got a great response when I put a few recipe videos on my instagram so I thought I would share how with a few spices and 30-40 min you can get juicy and delicious chops for dinner ....and make they make great left overs for anything from wraps to salads. Also could be used on any meat or meat alternative. Have been wanting to try it on chicken or grilled eggplant so will definitely post when I do! Ingredients:

Why so chill? Chilling is what really gives that caramel look and texture with still having the outer crispy crunchy that we look for in these classic cookies. Enjoy! Xo Cinnamon buns have always been my favourite since I was very young. I can remember helping my mom make them for us before I was even old enough to use an oven. Now they are in my baking rotation and I am constantly tweaking to get them bigger and better, I think this recipe has done just that. Oven: 350 F/ 180 C Ingredients: For the buns

Enjoy Xo This loaf does bake for almost an hour but mixing it up takes no time. You just have to watch it rise and enjoy. I am not a huge fan of glazes heavy with powdered sugar so I opted for one with more flavour made up of fresh lemon and oranges juiced. I have made this in all the cafes I have worked in and it does not seem to be on the shelf long...But sharing is up to you. Ingredients:

I am going through my recipe book and trying to narrow a few recipes down to be my go-to's. I will still always be trying new ones and coming up with my own but when you and those around you have favorites its great to have those recipes that will satisfy the craving without fail. This has been my go-to chocolate cake for a while now because the recipe never failed me. It is such a dense yet still somehow light chocolate sponge with decadent dark chocolate buttercream. I have made it for clients, parties with family or friends or just because it has been a week that needs something sweet. Oven: 350 F or 180 C Ingredients Cake/sponge -

Mainly because a cookie with raisins never gets to be the MVP of the cookie world. That is unless you try to spin it as a breakfast option. After 3-4 days a lot of butter and 2-3 bags of 1Kg oats I think I finally have a recipe that is now my go-to. I went through many recipes while trying to come up with my idea of the perfect oatmeal and raisin cookie. Some equal parts oat to flour and some not even at all, some with large oats some with smaller, some with butter some with margarine also some with white sugar and some without. In the end, for the recipe, I stuck with classic ingredients but did half the amount of white sugar. I find in a lot of recipes this can be done but never has it worked so well in cookies. I hope you get the desired result without having to have 4-5 dozen "practice" cookies.... They will all go to a good home or a strong coffee. This may be a bit controversial but I have made a classic pasta dish a bit lighter. Now don't get me wrong, I love regular carb-filled pasta as much as the next person. However, sometimes we all wish pasta could be a bit less heavy when the cravings hit...This recipe is the answer to that. The recipe below is for 4 servings but feel free to edit it to your tastes. Enjoy Xo I spent an evening looking up what goes into tasty and popular snacks that pack some of the nutrients you need day to day. Now my to make list is quite long because they all looked so delicious and I am a sucker for anything that has peanut butter in it. So, I came up with these bars by combining the main ingredients as well as adding what I think would help with switching out refined sugars for natural ones. They also are great for a quick breakfast, You can heat them in the toaster as well as add some yogurt with fruit. Its almost like you are having dessert for breakfast that you can feel good about. Oven: 350 F or 180 C Pan size: 9/9 inches Ingredients:
Method:
Side notes: - These heat up great by just being in the toaster for 4-5 min. - If you would like them to be thicker double the oats as well as add 2 more bananas. - In this size pan I made it into 6 bars which were bigger then I would do next time but a great size for a snack or breakfast. Hope you enjoy and feel free to tag me on instagram with @canuckinthe_uk when you make them :) |
